I am in a market with a few items in my arms, heading for the checkout. The market feels cavernous and rather empty of people. I get in line at the only register that is open where there is just one person in front of me. She is in the act of unloading her cart onto the conveyor. I am not really paying attention, I am just there, waiting patiently. At some point, I tune in to the situation in front of me because I'm feeling like I have been waiting for an extraordinarily long time. The woman is still unloading her goods out of her cart on to the conveyor and I think to myself, "Man. She's got a lot of groceries." I look around the store. No people are around anywhere except for the cashier and the woman in front of me. I wander off and go get another item. I come back to the checkout and the woman with the heaps of groceries is gone, and there is another woman unloading her basket on to the conveyor. As I get nearer, I look down the conveyor belt and see tomatoes laid out one-by-one in a single line that stretches out into the dark, cavernous space of the market for as far as the eye can see and beyond. So I think to myself, "Man, this is going to take awhile." So I wander off to the bakery area, feeling like I might as well just splurge on some of the yummy, creamy pumpkin/chocolate cheesecake I noticed earlier. As I am carving out a enormous piece of this cheesecake for myself, I feel the presence of other people discreetly watching me. My interpretation is that they are all disapproving of my glutinous act, and I am feeling very strongly that I don't care. In fact I am feeling great satisfaction that I don't care. I am very focused on the cheesecake and that I want it and I can't wait to eat it. As I am walking back towards the checkout, I am suddenly awakened by my cat jumping on to my pillow and I feel intensely bummed out that I didn't even get a bit of that sinful dessert.
